"OC&C is a vibrant, buzzing and current place to be with a culture that embraces differences"
ECS Global Breakfast
On 16th September, the ECS network were delighted to hold our first ECS breakfast for over 18 months. These breakfasts were arranged locally in each office, and were an opportunity to meet people across the firm as well as to welcome the new cohort of joiners.
ECS Network Social
In August, the ECS network in London sharpened their culinary skills at our first in-person network social in over 18 months! This was a perfect location to celebrate our network’s achievements through the pandemic and to thank staff who have been heavily involved in leading various initiatives. During the class, we were taught about the intricacies of dumpling making and the secrets of perfect Wok cooking.
Global Anti-racism & Cultural Inclusion Training
As a growing global firm we are continuously looking to improve inclusivity and integration across our offices and between colleagues of different identities and backgrounds. In support of this, we are pleased that all employees participated in a global program of anti-racism and cultural inclusion training sessions. These sessions across offices specifically focused on increasing understanding of racism (and how to actively engage in anti-racism), bias, inequality, privilege, and how you can build cultural inclusivity at work.
Cooking Competition for Nowruz
To celebrate the Iranian new year & the first day of Spring on Saturday 20th March, the ECS network held a cooking competition open to staff from all OC&C offices! Traditionally, Nowruz is celebrated with visits to family and friends, spending time outdoors, and lots of good food!
Rangoli Making for Diwali
On Friday 27th November, the ECS Network ran a Rangoli event to celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali! Guided by an expert, we learnt how to make Rangoli, the history behind it and some cultural stories around the tradition.
Rangoli is an Indian art form, creating patterns using coloured rice, sand, flower petals etc. The purpose of Rangoli is to feel strength, generosity and bring good luck to you and your house. Designs are passed from generation to generation and it is a key part of Diwali celebrations around the world.
ECS Cooking Competition for Chinese New Year
To celebrate Chinese New Year (Year of the Tiger), ECS hosted an cooking competition across all OC&C offices worldwide!
40 lucky OC&Cers received a free copy of ‘Every Grain of Rice’, an authentic Chinese cookery book. Contestants sent in pictures of their culinary creations and three winners were chosen: Tiemen de Jong and Fleur Jongma (Netherlands), Alex Parker (UK), and Michael Lisowski (US).
Big thank you to everyone who participated and Happy year of the Tiger!
