Michael Lisowski

Michael is an experienced consultant, and private and public company operator. He takes a pragmatic approach to project delivery and ensures that recommendations take account of the hard graft that is often necessary to make them an operational reality.

Michael joined OC&C in London in 2003 after completing his PhD at Cambrdige, and became partner in the TMT practice in 2009.  As partner, his work focused on commercial strategy and due diligence in B2B media and technology. 

He left OC&C in 2012 to join one of his clients, EMAP, a struggling, PE-owned, UK centric, B2B information products business.  He helped transform the business into a global subscription data business, resulting in its IPO as ‘Ascential plc’ in 2016 and the subsequent doubling of its value as a FTSE250 company.  He sat on the private and public company board as Strategy Director and then as COO, responsible for M&A, Strategy, Transformation, Digital Product Development, Technology and International Operations.  In his final two years with the company, he was president of Edge by Ascential, the global leader in ecommerce analytics with offices from Shanghai to Salt Lake City.  Upon leaving Ascential, he spent just over a year as COO of AI legal-tech start-up, ThoughtRiver, where he helped deliver a ‘series A’ raise, and as an advisor to Signal AI, which provides AI-driven PR and communications intelligence.  He rejoined the OC&C partnership, this time in North America, in 2021.
