OC&C announces extension of social impact partnerships with the Youth Endowment Fund, UK and NSPCC

Tuesday 16 November 2021 | Press release

We are delighted to announce that after a successful first year of partnerships with the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) and the NSPCC, we have formally extended our partnerships until 2024. We are looking forward to being able to use our commercial skills and expertise to continue to support these organisations to deliver real impact to their communities.

Youth Endowment Fund
The Youth Endowment Fund was founded with a ten-year government investment of £200m and a mission that matters. They work to prevent children and young people becoming involved in crime and violence. They do it by funding and evaluating projects, listening to young people and using data and evidence to find out what works. They also work together with partners to build a movement committed to putting that knowledge into practice.

Over the last year, OC&C and YEF have worked together on 3 strategic projects as well as leveraging each other’s resources and expertise in terms of training, mentoring and fundraising. OC&C and YEF will continue to work together to deliver additional strategic projects alongside other initiatives. Together, we will apply a rigorous analytical approach to help make a lasting difference on issues that have a huge impact on young people across the country.

Jon Yates, YEF’s Executive Director, added:
“The pro bono support we've already received from OC&C has been incredibly important in helping us to focus our strategy. It is helping us target our funding on building evidence where we are most likely to be able to change how children are supported and reduce the risk of them becoming involved in violence. Their expertise and dedication has been unparalleled, which is why I'm so pleased that we're continuing and strengthening our partnership. By working together, I'm confident that we'll make sure that the projects and evaluations we fund make change for the children and young people we're here to support."

NSPCC
The NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) is the UK's leading child protection charity. It provides services across the UK to help children who’ve been abused, protect children at risk and find the best ways to prevent child abuse from ever happening. They aim to transform society for every childhood.

Over the last year, the NSPCC and OC&C have successfully worked together on 4 strategic projects covering some of the organisation's most pressing strategic questions. Alongside this, more than 80 OC&C staff members have been involved in fundraising and volunteering initiatives in support of the NSPCC, such as the London Marathon, and an annual “Around the World Challenge”. Over the coming years, we will continue to work together to deliver projects, fundraising and other initiatives, which will deliver real impact for the charity and the children they support.

Michael McGrath, Head of Partnerships at the NSPCC, added:
“We are absolutely delighted that OC&C have chosen to extend their partnership with the NSPCC. Over the last year, they have delivered quality recommendations to some of the NSPCC’s key strategic questions, such as the secondary education offer and further developing NSPCC Learning and ED&I strategy. Alongside this, they have also made hugely important contributions to our volunteering offer and fundraising, for which we are extremely grateful. We look forward to continuing our partnership to make a difference for children.”

Commenting on the partnerships, Phil Hunt, Partner at OC&C in London, said
"Over the last year we have worked closely with both YEF and the NSPCC to deliver 7 impactful strategic projects, alongside other initiatives including Hackathons and mentoring. Following on from the success of this first year, we are delighted to extend our partnerships with these charities until 2024. At OC&C we have a longstanding commitment to do impactful pro bono work, and these are two organisations whose values and ambitions our people are passionate about, so we look forward to continuing to support their work over the coming years”
