Private Equity round-up
Thursday 21 February 2019 | NewsWe had a very active 2018 in Private Equity and transaction support. We are delighted to have supported clients on over 200 transactions globally, working with dozens of global private equity houses across every continent. The build-out of our activities across Europe, the US and Asia offices has strengthened our global reach while adding local expertise across our core sectors. We have continued to expand and enhance our historic core offering in both buy and sell-side transaction support while building out first-class capabilities across all aspects of in-life value creation support. Private equity continues to form an integral pillar of our strategy across all our offices.
We have been involved in landmark transactions across our sectors in 2018. These include supporting Unilever on the sale of Flora Food Group in a £6bn deal, the £1.5bn IPO of Funding Circle, advising on IRIS (the biggest ever private equity software buyout in the UK, that attracted £1.3bn of investment from Hg, ICG and others), and 3i’s acquisition of I.C.E. the global travel business headquartered in the US.
Looking to 2019, there remains a large amount of capital that funds are looking to deploy, albeit against a tighter economic backdrop where strong returns will prove harder to secure than in recent years. Funds will need to look carefully to find the right opportunities. We will continue to support our clients identify true value creation and investment opportunities and help them get ahead of the crowd by combining our deep sector expertise with proprietary diligence methods.
