Meet our Data Analytics team
Our people are our success and we endeavour to celebrate and support them throughout their careers.
When asked, what sets OC&C apart from other strategy consultancies, the most common answer is a group of intelligent, motivated and genuinely fun people which make up the supportive workforce. But, don’t take our work for it – hear what our team has to say.

James, Partner and Global Head of Analytics
I’m James Walker. I’m a partner with OC&C based in London, but working globally, and I lead our Analytics practice.
I graduated from LSE with a BSc in Economics and have since spent 30 years working in Analytics - starting long before data was big.
I was the first maths man at a time of Mad Men; sold a couple of Analytics start-ups; had senior international leadership roles at a large Technology consultancy; was a senior partner in brand strategy consulting in New York; then a strategy consulting company in Europe which we sold to a Big 4. Along the way, I made movies in Santa Monica and owned a Chinatown nightclub.
I chose to work in strategy consulting because I can’t think of many more fun things to do except maybe a race car driver and astronaut. I have worked on such a variety of projects always different from the previous.
My favourite client? NASA! I got to present from Kennedy’s podium he used at Rice University for his “we choose to go the moon” speech.
David - Chief Analytics Officer
I graduated from Imperial College London, with a BSc in Physics, went on to achieve a PhD in Computational Physics.
Prior to joining OC&C I worked at a variety of different Strategy Consulting firms and was also a VP at a US Big Data Analytics firm.
The main reasons for my joining OC&C were the firm’s enviable reputation in industries that interest me and the firm’s desire to develop an analytics capability to help create better and more incisive strategy recommendations for our clients.
My role in the firm is split between sales and delivery of client work, custodian role of our analytics methodologies and tools, and nurturing and growing our analytics team.
Strategy consulting definitely ticks the boxes of varied, interesting and challenging problems as well as personal development.
I have had many memorable project experiences, from being a VIP guest at the opening of the first KFC in the Ivory Coast, to standing on a hill in Tromso in Norway and looking at the midnight sun.
Outside work I spend most of my time with my family, helping my son improve his basketball game and most weekends I try to improve my piloting skill by flying aeroplanes both normally as well as ‘upside down’.
